No New Game Consoles?
Microsoft released the Xbox 360 five years ago. Sony released the Play Station 3 four years ago. And Nintendo released the Wii four years ago. Usually each company releases a new and better system for the next generation every five years. It has been five years now and there is no talk of another gaming console coming from any of these three companies.
Why is this?
As the gaming consoles work harder to support better graphics and better gameplay the game developers spend more money to make the games. Some games such as Grand Theft Auto 4 spent over $100 million dollars to make it. With a new Play Station or Xbox imagine how much it would cost to make games to stand up to the console. With the economy now nobody really wants to make a step up to the next generation. So there is no surprise the next generation of gaming will not rise until 2014 or 2015.
Each company has been making profit by offering upgrades to the systems though. Such as Nintendo’s Wii Pressure Board and Microsoft’s Xbox Live. The Wii Pressure Board is used for games such as Wii Fit and Tony Hawk. Xbox Live can be used for almost any game if you want to shoot other gamers or race other gamers.
There is no doubt that there will be no new game consoles because there will be. It will just take longer this time.
NOTE : The Nintendo DSi is a hand-held so Wii is still the newest gaming console by Nintendo.
When the new consoles do come out though it will probably blow our minds to shreds.
